Navigating the Storm:

In Times of Business Crisis

When challenges hit—uncertainty, pressure, or the feeling that something has to change—you don’t need judgment. You need steady, experienced support and clear, actionable guidance without added risk. That's what I offer.

Every business has a storysome are fighting through tough chapters, others are just beginning to write theirs. As a retired executive, now business advisor, mentor, and financial coach, I help on both ends of this journey.

After decades in the business trenches—building companies, navigating crises, turning around struggling teams, and reinventing what’s next—I’ve learned what works, what doesn’t, and what truly lasts—giving me a rare ability to handle challenges with both strategic foresight and practical, ground-level know-how.

I’ve built businesses from scratch. I’ve led them through tough markets, hard decisions, and major transitions. I’ve also helped others do the same when everything was on the line.

Background

In the early 1970s, I launched my first business, Texa-Tel Communications, Inc. I gradually expanded this small but consistently profitable startup from a modest $1,000 investment to $2.5 million in sales.

In 1989, I sold Texa-Tel to join International Claims Administration Corporation as Vice President of the Bank Card Division at the request of Visa USA. I later joined Visa directly at its headquarters in Foster City, California. During my time with Visa, I studied bankcard management with the American Banker Association at the University of Oklahoma, the “Principles of SEC Reporting” with Grant Thornton, and “International Business Transactions” at Berkeley Law.

Paying it Forward

Now retired from the corporate world, I stay active and engaged by giving back through strategic guidance, collaboration, financial insights, and mentorship—at a nominal fee—to help first-time entrepreneurs, small business owners, and leaders overcome challenges and discover new growth opportunities.

Not a Guru. Not a Formula. Just Real Help.  If you're seeking guidance from a mentor who's been there and done that, someone who shows up, listens deeply, asks the right questions, and helps you take meaningful action, you may have just found the support you’ve been looking for.

Let's Connect

I’m not here to sell you a dream, a formula, or a course. I’m here to help you fix what’s not working, make wise decisions, and move forward—strategically, calmly, and with confidence.

What's Holding You Back?

As small businesses strive to survive and grow, they encounter inevitable roadblocks that can derail even the most promising ventures. Acknowledging these barriers is the first step toward overcoming them.

  • UNCLEAR DIRECTION?

You’ve been putting in the work, but progress feels scattered. Without a clear roadmap, it’s hard to know which move will actually move the needle. You may be asking yourself:  Am I building something sustainable, or just surviving another month?

  • LACK OF NEW CUSTOMERS?

Your success depends on knowing exactly who you're serving and how to attract and retain them in a crowded, distracted marketplace.

  • FINANCIAL PRESSURE?

Lack of Capital and Cash flow isn't just important—it’s survival. Without sufficient capital and a steady income, it’s nearly impossible to cover expenses, invest in growth, or handle the curveballs every business faces.

  • WEARING TOO MANY HATS?

Attempting to juggle everything can cause you to lose sight of the big picture. Important projects may be delayed, priorities can become unclear, and you might feel overwhelmed and out of control.

  • STRUGGLING WITH SELF-DOUBT?

Limiting beliefs are harmful. They create fear and hesitation. They also hinder your ability to act and can even impact your confidence and relationships with others.
